Book Publishing

Vision: Our vision is to enhance and improve the relationships in Christian families and also to reach non-Christians providing them information about handling family problems from Christian perspective.

Publishing, from the beginning, has been one of the main tools used to minister to youth, families and non-Christians. We have reached many thousands of readers with over 200,000 books printed in ten years, featuring well known names as James Dobson, Norman Wright, Gary Smalley, Bill Hybels, Jim Burns and more.
For about half of the titles we have done two, three and even four reprints. In 2004 we printed Surviving Adolescence by Jim Burns, Courageous Leadership by Bill Hybels, Communication: Key to Your Marriage by Norman Wright and Reaching for the Invisible God by Philip Yancey. We try to continue to keep the balance between books for the Christian markets and for the secular market.
Another event was the participation at the International Book Fare in the capital city Bucharest, where we were able to distribute many books than we had anticipated and around 80 % of the buyers were non-Christians. We have now a regular twice a year participation at the major book fares in Romania.

"Because of some unfortunate situations in my life I came to the conclusion that I can not be forgiven, that I am too much of a sinner. A friend of mine gave me to read the book called Twice Pardoned and that book brought light in my life. I accepted God’s forgiveness and I went further in my walk with God.“

Book Distribution

Vision: Our vision is to let our books reach our audience, developing a nationwide distribution network in: Christian bookstores, secular bookstores, church distributors and by mail.

Since 1993, when we began the book distribution, over 200,000 copies were already distributed in the secular and Christian bookshops, individual distributors and through mail.

"Having a 19 month old child, the first books I read from New Hope Timisoara were the books about raising children. The books helped me very much because I was raised in a non-Christian family and I lived in a non-Christian environment. I did not know how to raise and discipline a child. I had a lot of questions that I have found good answers for in your books.“

Sunday School Curriculum - Footsteps of Faith

Vision: Our vision is to provide quality resources for Sunday School teachers and those who teach the religion classes in public schools and orphanages.
Footsteps of Faith it is a complete and complex Sunday School curriculum, based on the usage of flannel figures.
Consisting of hundreds of nicely colored figures, eight textbooks, stickers with Romanian words and eight flannel review charts, a set provides enough material to cover 4 to 5 years of Sunday School lessons.
Very well structured, the material gives every child the opportunity not only to learn biblical truths but also to review and apply these truths in their personal lives.

"We are thankful to God because the material fulfills the main need of our ministry: knowing Jesus Christ, the only Way to God. Most of the children we work with are from non-Christian homes and the Footsteps of Faith curriculum helps us fulfill their main need. We appreciate that we have the teachers' books and indications for teaching in Romanian“

My Journal - The devotional for Youth

Vision: Our vision is to change the life of Christian young people and to develop in young Christians the habit of daily devotions through Bible reading and prayer.

We believe that it takes the daily discipline of having quiet time with the Lord to become a mature Christian. Therefore we publish "My Journal" a devotional which is a valuable tool helping the youth in this discipline.
Translated from "Soul Journey“ published by Radio Bible Class, "My Journal“ steps into the 14th year of existence. It is published every other month and since 1999 can be found online on our web site.
Most of our distribution is by subscription. We average between 800 and 900 subscriptions each year. It is encouraging for us that many of the subscribers have subscribed from the beginning.
Now, the devotional has a new design for the cover and a new fulfillment system, based on a new strategy of subscription.

Camps

Vision: Our vision is to provide to campers the opportunity to rest, refresh and grow spiritually in nice outdoor settings and to provide quality resources for those involved in Christian camp ministry.

Started back in 1991, the camping ministry of the New Hope team in Timisoara developed over the years, organizing more than 70 camps, providing for more than 2300 teenagers, youth and families unforgettable days of relaxation, rest and spiritual growth.
The campers spend 10 days in tents in different locations in remote mountain areas, enjoying good meals, games, Bible study, having fun and praying, sports, singing, hiking, and the fellowship around campfire.
Promoting a unique style in Romanian Christian camping, New Hope assists other churches and ministries in organizing their own camps. In order to accomplish this task we also produce resources for camp organizers and teach sessions or workshops in national and regional conferences for Christian camp organizers.

"The New Hope camp left with totally positive impressions. Although I did not know anybody my age, the young people in the camp have warmly welcomed me, even if I am from another denomination. Spiritually, the camp was a real gift for me. I had the opportunity to know God better through Bible study and devotions. I hope that the friendships I established here will last and that in the future I will be able to attend again the camp.”

INJOY tapes

Vision: Our vision is to provide Christian leaders (pastors, deacons, ministries staff) in Romania with teaching tools and encouragement for their ministry

With over 50 years of history in which, for most the church leaders, the training and resources were just a dream, the Romanian evangelical church is still missing resources with practical advice on leadership.
The messages of Dr. John Maxwell on audio tapes exactly fill this gap. Since 1999, New Hope team in Timisoara started "Be strong in grace“, a program to translate, record and distribute these messages.
20 tapes with different subjects were produced totaling more than 2500 copies which enhanced and improved the ministry of approximately 600 pastors, teachers and church leaders.

"The tapes are very important for my ministry. I am pastor from nine years and now I realize more my need to have a clearer image about leadership. The tapes came to me in an important time of my ministry and I think that God wants to improve me through them."

EUGEN JUGARU,
Pastor
Codlea
